hāya sakhi! dṛigana milāya mana lai gayo
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(The first sweet encounter of a gopī with beloved Shyāmasundara and her dialogue with her intimate friend.) “Oh sakhi, today, Shyāmasundara stole my heart through His loving glance. Adolescent in age, I was very innocent. Oh sakhi! I don’t know what magic spell He cast on me. Mad for Him, I am wandering all around, desperately yearning for His reunion. Oh sakhi! He has given me unbearable pain of separation. I don’t know where He has gone, after sweetly calling me ‘Beloved!’ with a slow smile. Now, without Him, what can I do? Where can I go? Now, even one moment seems to be literally like a kalpa. Oh sakhi! What will happen now?” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “How will you remain alive now? That Trickster has sown the poison-creeper of separation in your heart. The implication is that at present, the agony of separation is only in the form of a seed. What will you go through when it is fully grown?”
