lakhi āju gaī balihāra re

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

A sakhī says, “Today, I sacrificed myself after seeing Shyāmasundara. He was standing in His triple-bent posture in the groves made with creepers. He looked at me smiling slowly and I, too, looked at Him. While looking at Him, the blinking of my eyes gave me great pain. I thought that Brahmā is extremely foolish to create eyelids on the eyes. However, He didn’t say a word to me and neither did I; still I lost my consciousness.” In the meanwhile, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī humorously said to the gopī, “Oh sakhi! It is not at all surprising that the eyes of you two became four. Even in the world, two plus two become four.”
