yaha kaisī lāgi balāya re

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

A sakhī says to her friend, “Oh sakhi! What a great trouble I have fallen into! Yesterday, I had gone to fetch water to Vanshīvaṭa. The brother of Balarāma, Shyāmasundara, came right there. The infinite sweetness of His beauty made me completely oblivious of myself, the moment my eyes fell on Him. Since then, my eyes have been shedding tears continuously and the only word my tongue is uttering is ‘oh!’ Parrots, partridges, peacocks, cuckoos are all, as if bent upon killing me.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the sakhī adds, “Up to what extent can I describe my physical state? Breath alone is left.”
