daī hauṁ, luṭi gai bīcha bajāra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(The expression of internal feelings of a maiden of Braja, mad after Shyāmasundara’s love.) Oh God! I was publicly robbed today! I had gone to fetch water from the river Yamunā with thousands of sakhīs. Just then, that unashamed son of Nanda came at the panaghaṭa and calling all the sakhīs said, ‘Whosoever among you all challenges to be absolutely devoted to her husband should look at Me just once.’ Filled with pride, I ignorantly looked at Him a little just once. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “The moment I saw Him, I forcibly became His and sacrificed my ‘everything’ on Him.”
