daī! hauṁ, gaī dhāra-hūṁ dhāra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A sakhī relates her meeting with Shyāmasundara to her friend- Oh God! I am ruined from every point of view. Oh sakhi! I had gone to the bank of the river Yamunā when all of a sudden a flirt came right there. No sooner did my eyes meet His eyes than they established the relation of beloved with Him. The other sakhī asked, “What is His name whom you have made your beloved?” The sakhī replied, “You already know that He is the son of your husband’s sister.” At this, the other sakhī angrily said, “What nonsense are you talking? Where is my husband? When did I get married?” In the meantime, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī said to the first sakhī, “Oh sakhi! I have understood your husband’s name. Any sister of any woman’s husband is called that woman’s ‘nanda’ (sister-in-law). Her ‘kumāra’ (son) means that same promiscuous Nandakumāra who is famous in the whole Braja.”
