daī! hauṁ, āju ṭhagāya gaī
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A gopī’s first sweet encounter with beloved Shyāmasundara and her revelation of it to her intimate friend – Oh sakhi! I was deceptively robbed of everything I had. I had gone to Kusuma sarovara with many of my friends. There, that Naughty Shyāmasundara had already hidden Himself behind some creepers in a grove. He appeared all of a sudden and said to me, ‘Oh sakhi! Your mother has sent Me to call you, because My mother wants to see you. Our mothers have decided to engage us with each other.’ Being innocent, I believed Him and took off with Him. On the way, He put His arms around my neck and embraced me. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “On reaching home, I discovered that all this was a lie, but I sacrificed my ‘everything’, body as well as mind in the bliss of His embrace.”
