kāmarī vāre pai, kā marī jāta?
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
One sakhī, criticizing Shyāmasundara in loving jest, says to another, “Oh sakhi! Why do you dote on Shyāmasundara who wraps Himself in a black blanket? He has a very dark complexion. You tell me yourself, can it ever be called a good complexion? He has two mothers and two fathers. He is also extremely heartless and belongs to a low caste - ahīra. Besides, He flirts with every maiden of Braja (so you can never expect to get undivided attention from Him). His gait, His intellect and His love are all very unsteady like a bee. They cannot remain stable even for a second. Moreover, not only is He illiterate Himself, but also the company He keeps consists of cowherd boys who are equally illiterate. He is intemperately independent-minded and also remains intoxicated with love all the time. Therefore, don’t be love-sick for Him.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, answering on behalf of the other sakhī, says, “Oh sakhi! You cannot understand these intimate, strange matters of love. Rasikas alone can understand that on being infected by the disease of love once, one can never be cured of it.”
