kānha kachhu kai gayo ṭonā rī
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(A gopī’s sweet encounter with beloved Shyāmasundara, and her description of it to one of her intimate friends.) Oh sakhi! That Shyāmasundara has cast a magic spell on me. He was tending His cows on the bank of the river Yamunā when I went there suddenly and saw that son of Nanda. As soon as I saw Him, He stung me with His infatuating eyes like a female snake. Oh sakhi! He has taken away my mind, body and soul, and has given me nothing but tears instead. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, since then, neither do I spend a peaceful moment during the day nor can I sleep soundly at night. In other words, I constantly yearn for His sweet union.
