lakhī maiṁ sakhi! sundara shyāmala gāta
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(The description of the beauty of Shyāmasundara’s adornment.) Oh sakhi! I have seen stunning Shyāmasundara. The curls of His hair are looking so beautiful that it appears as if swarms of black-bees have gathered and are forming lines to drink the pollen of His lotus-face. His crown, staff and earrings are all made of gold. His gem-studded earrings oscillating on His beautiful round cheeks seem to be playing on them. The collyrium of His intoxicating eyes gives happiness to the rasikas and shatters the pride of the khañjana bird. A gem-studded frolicsome kiṅkiṇī on His waist is producing sweet jingling sound. Various types of jewelled necklaces are graced around His neck. He is wearing pītāmbara and a beautiful kāchhanī is tied on it. His flute is tucked in the kāchhanī. He is walking in an intoxicated manner. Therefore, the chandrikā of His peacock-feathered crown is repeatedly swaying to and fro according to the movements of His body. The gem-studded anklets on His feet are producing sweet tinkling music. In addition to all this is His enchanting smile which forcibly captivates the heart. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “I don’t feel satisfied even after sacrificing crores of Kāmadevas on each and every limb of His infinitely beautiful body.”
