dekhu sakhi! nāgara nandakumāra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh sakhi! Look at Shyāmasundara, the crest-jewel of rasikas. He is the giver of joy to rasikas, the reservoir of innumerable virtues and is blue-complexioned. I offer myself on the bend of His peacock-feathered crown, the arch of His eyebrows and the shine of His tilaka. There is yellow silken shawl on His shoulders and in it, is wrapped up a staff. In His hands is His flute, which captivates the three worlds by its melodious music. His cheeks are extremely round and extremely sweet are His words, which enchant the hearts of all the maidens of Braja. His gait, which embarrasses even the gait of a swan, forcibly fascinates the heart. Seeing the unique adornment of His every limb, the veritable Adornment itself gets embarrassed. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “That incomparable beauty of Shyāmasundara should only be seen to be believed as it definitely defies all descriptions.”
