Shri Krishna Madhuri · Pad 13

dekhu sakhi! jhūmata āvata shyāma

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

A gopī is telling a friend, “Look sakhi! There comes Shyāma, enrapturing the minds of the maidens of Braja with His intoxicated style of walking which puts even an elephant to shame. Due to the swaying movements of His body, the peacock-feathered crest of His crown is moving to and fro. His neck is slightly slanted to the left side. His curly black ringlets keep moving forward as if to see His beautiful face. He is playing sweetly on His flute, calling out the gopīs by name with its sweet melodious notes.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Shrī Kṛishṇa’s incomparable beauty is putting crores of Kāmadevas to shame.”
