Shri Radha Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 13
māya rī, jorī kauna balāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Asking the meaning of the word pair, little Kishorī Jī says to Mother Kīrti, “Oh Mother! What the hell is this ‘pair’? And who is that Lāla whose pair I am? Tell Me right now.” Extremely curious, She asks thus again and again and upon not getting any answer, She shakes Her mother violently in between. Mother Kīrti is feeling beside herself with parental love. After a little while, she says, “Oh Lālī (daughter)! It seems to me that those young maidens who had come to see You belong to Nandagāṁva. The reason behind their coming was that they wish to arrange Your engagement with Nandalāla.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “Hearing this, little Kishorī Jī at once asked Her mother very innocently, “Oh Mother! What does ‘engagement’ mean?”
