Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 97
hari! jani, mo kahaṁ āṁkhi dikhāyo
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(There has been some disagreement between Shrī Kṛishṇa and His cowherd friends concerning the return of the cows. At this, the cowherd boys are scolding Shrī Kṛishṇa.) Oh Kanhaiyā! Don’t stare at us. Get Your cows out and take care of them Yourself. You have had Your way for too long now. We have had enough of Your threats. What are You so proud of? Who do You think You are? We have spared You so far, thinking You to be the younger brother of Balarāma. But You have taken undue advantage of our leniency. You either go off to sleep in the cowshed, or climb up a tree and play on Your flute without a care in the world. We are not hired servants of Your father whose name You threaten us with so often, nor do we eat the food given by Your father, or live in a house constructed by him. Do You understand? When Shrī Kṛishṇa noticed that His beloved friends were really angry with Him, His eyes became moist with tears, because He cannot live without them even for a single moment. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī sarcastically said to the cowherd boys, “Dear friends! I have observed even in the world that adopted children are always the most spoiled, and after all, Kanhaiyā is also the adopted son of Nanda, His real father being Vasudeva.”
