Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 48
are o, muralī vāre kānha!
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Addressing Shyāmasundara who is asking for some curd in charity, a sakhī says, “Oh flute-player Shyāmasundara! Don’t boast much about Yourself. Don’t think me to be an ordinary girl. Oh son of two fathers (Vasudeva and Nanda)! Oh extremely black-complexioned! Who is not familiar with You? What really amazes me is that even though Kansa is alive, You are called the king of Braja and ask for the curd in charity! Accompanied with absolutely illiterate and extremely uncultured cowherd boys, You move about cheating innocent gopīs.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Oh sakhi! This is nothing new. In every incarnation of His, the Lord of māyā (the deluding potency) has played such roles. This is how He is recognised.”
