Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 26
renu-tanu-maṇḍita sundara shyāma
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Besmeared completely with dust, baby Kṛishṇa is looking exceedingly charming. Picking up fistfuls of dust and throwing it on His head with great joy, He is defying the beauty of millions of Kāmadevas. Sometimes, sitting all by Himself, He screeches very sweetly showing His milk teeth; sometimes, He sings something unintelligible; and sometimes, full of joy, He calls His brother Dāū Jī by name. When Mother Yashodā saw Shrī Kṛishṇa in this condition, she went to Him and feeling very irritated and holding Him tightly in both her hands, lifted Him up. Then, taking Him in her lap and shaking Him violently, said, “It seems that You were a pig in Your previous birth.” Hearing this, Balarāma started laughing, because he was well aware of the secret that Bhagwan Kṛishṇa had assumed the form of a pig in one of His previous incarnations. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Hearing Bhagwan Kṛishṇa being referred to as a pig in His past life, all the maidens of Braja, too, were overcome with joy because they also knew the above secret.”
