Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 23
navani hita jhagarata dou sukhadhāma
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Both Kṛishṇa and Balarāma, the reservoirs of bliss, are engaged in a quarrel for butter with Mother Yashodā. Shyāmasundara has clasped His arms around Maiyā’s neck from the front and tugging at her, is kicking up a tremendous fuss. Balarāma, on the other hand, is trying to attract her attention from behind by pulling her plait. Maiyā, catching hold of Kṛishṇa with one hand and Balarāma with the other, scolds them in irritation, “If you do not let me work, I shall beat you with a stick. Now, both of you go and play outside for a while till I churn the curd to take out the butter.” (Hearing this, Balarāma immediately ran out to play but Shyāmasundara stayed back). In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, little Kṛishṇa then mustered some courage and innocently said to His mother, “Maiyā! Give Me the butter without churning the curd.” Hearing these innocent words of baby Kṛishṇa, the sakhīs sitting around started to laugh, feeling inebriated with bliss.
