Shri Krishna Bal Leela Madhuri · Pad 9
kabai kahi maiyā! mohiṁ bulāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(Mother Yashodā, with baby Kṛishṇa in her lap, dreams of the day when her following motherly desires will be fulfilled.) When will the day come when Kanhaiyā will call me ‘Maiyā’ and address Baladāū and Nanda Jī as ‘Bhaiyā’ and ‘Bābā’ respectively? When will the day come when He will come to me toddling, captivated by my love? When will my son, feigning anger, catch hold of my sari demanding for butter? When will He show a child’s displeasure by rolling on the ground and kicking His little feet up and down in anger with tears flowing from His eyes, and I will go and pacify Him with loving words? In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “When will the day come when my son will leave even the lap of His father upon seeing me, and come running to embrace me?” (It is a psychological fact that a son’s love is many times greater for his mother than for his father.)
