prīti kī ati aṭapaṭa gati hāya!
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh! The subject of love is extremely unique and complicated. Although the saints tell us that love should always be kept secret, and on pondering over this principle seriously, it seems to be absolutely correct, but whenever there comes a flood in the ocean of love, it drowns even the mind and the intellect. There always soar ever-new, unfathomable waves in a lover’s body. Even the greatest men of wisdom like Uddhava are unable to fathom the depth of divine love. When the love is beyond the reach of the mind and the intellect, and that is why, when they try to approach it, they drown on the way itself, then how can a lover whose intellect has been completely intoxicated with the wine of love ever reflect on any principle? Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says that on getting much intensified, this love manifests itself through the eight symptoms of divine ecstasy [(1) Tremor (2) Stupor (3) Horripilation (4) Perspiration (5) Paleness or brightness (6) Choked voice (7) Tears of love (8) Unconscious trance]. But till the moment love becomes naturally uncontrollable, the lover should try to hide his love with great care; otherwise he will become a victim of the greatest disease of the spiritual realm - Lokarañjana, i.e. entertainment of the public (anxiousness to influence people with one’s advanced stage of spirituality by false show of love).
