Prem Madhuri · Pad 3
prīti kī, ati ad̤abaṅgī rīta
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Extremely strange and winding are the ways of love! Love can neither be developed (attained) nor destroyed by self-effort; rather it is a gift, which is given to deserving souls by the grace of saints. Such is the doctrine of rasikas. An individual soul rises above the level of the material world in the same proportion in which his heart is coloured by divine love. After the attainment of divine love, sometimes an individual is seen acting like one possessed by a spirit, and sometimes, he is seen violating the laws established by the Vedas. Sometimes that lover of God becomes civilized like worldly people, and sometimes looks very backward and uncivilized. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says that this divine lover purifies the worldly souls, living and walking on this earth from place to place in a very unique way.
