nāma, bad̤a darshana chhoṭe shyāma
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh Shyāmasundara! Your name is extremely famous but Your actions do not justify it. It is only after hearing about Your name that I have come at Your door after wandering in the maze of eighty-four lakh forms of life. Some call You ‘Saviour of sinners’, some, ‘Patron of the poor’ and some even go to the extent of saying that You stand everywhere, always ready to bestow Your causeless love. But all I have heard are these big names of Yours. I did not find Your actions true to them. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, ‘I don’t want anything else. All I want is Your selfless love. Unless You bless me with it, You defame Your own name.’
