Siddhanta Madhuri · Pad 116
suno mana! ika anahonī bāta
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh mind! Listen to a unique thing. This is famous in the world and also proved by the Vedas that the essence of bliss, i.e. God, pervades each and every particle of this world. But even after experiencing the world continuously through our senses etc., not even an iota of that all-pervading divine happiness comes into our feeling. If an ant, even after residing on a mountain of sugar, experiences that it is actually living on a mountain of salt and not on the mountain of sugar, it is really a matter of surprise. But if one comes to know that the ant is holding a piece of salt in its mouth, there will be nothing to be surprised at. Worldly desires are like that piece of salt because of being full of which, our mind fails to experience divine bliss of God permeating the entire world. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Therefore, Oh mind, renouncing all desires, practise ceaseless devotion to Shyāmasundara.”

suno mana! ika anahonī bāta
jaga vyāpaka ānanda-kanda yaha, loka veda vikhyāta
pai yaha acharaja so nahiṁ kāhuhiṁ, anubhava māhiṁ lakhāta
jo chīṁṭī chīnī ke giri para, karata bāsa dina rāta
so yadi kahai lavaṇa giri tā kahaṁ, ko yaha māni sakāta
jo yaha marama jāna chīṁṭī mukha, lavaṇaḍalī sunu tāta
so ‘kripālu’ taji sakala kāmanā, bhajai sadā balabhrāta
