Siddhanta Madhuri · Pad 106

sakhī! mohiṁ prīti rīti samujhāya

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Oh sakhi! Tell me about the mode of love. The sakhī replied, “The mode of love can neither be expressed in words nor can anyone comprehend it by hearing. It is known only to Rādhā-Kṛishṇa, and is beyond anyone else’s apprehension. Still, this much can be said that if someone surrenders his body, mind and soul to the Divine Couple, he, then, understands the secret of love to certain extent only by Their grace. Words can suffice to make one understand only this much that to give and give is love, and to take and take is lust.” In the meanwhile, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī said, “Oh sakhi! Understand one more thing and that is, to take and give is called business.”
