Siddhanta Madhuri · Pad 107
sakhī! mohiṁ samujhāvahu yaha bāta
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh sakhi! Explain to me one secret. In the world, if a mistress comes to know that her beloved is attached to some other woman; her love naturally comes to an end. But Braja-maidens see Shyāmasundara’s polygyny with their own eyes; still their relationship with Him continues to become refreshingly new. Jealously between co-wives is definite to take place in the world but in case of Shyāmasundara’s love, it is exactly opposite. That is, Shyāmasundara’s sweetheart in the form of a saint always tries that all individual souls should become Shyāmasundara’s sweetheart and become blissful forever. The sakhī replied, “Oh sakhi! Listen. So long as one does not attain supreme happiness, one cannot love anyone because his love is selfish. (The real love can aim only at beloved’s happiness.)” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “The love of the sakhīs is only to please Shyāmasundara.”
