chhāṁd̤u mana! jaga mṛigajala kī āsa
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh mind! You have been drinking the mirage water of mundane pleasures for innumerable ages, but still your thirst could not be quenched. Therefore, leave the hope of quenching your thirst for happiness with the mirage-water of mundane sensual objects now. You have always lived in the hell of filthy objects of the five senses since time immemorial, but you never took refuge in the sacred feet of saints where goddess Gaṅgā herself resides. Having full faith in your Spiritual Master, constantly chant the names of Shyāmasundara with all humility and selflessness. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says that if you are planning to quench your thirst for happiness by any other means, then you are as stupid as the one who wants to reach the sky by climbing the ladder of the raindrops showered by clouds, which is utterly impossible in all the three times - past, present and future.
