Siddhanta Madhuri · Pad 26

are mana! swāratha ko sansāra

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Oh mind! This whole world is selfish. Just as a bumblebee inhales the sweet smell of a flower humming on it sweetly, but no sooner does the flower wither away and falls on the ground, than the bee stops looking at it even by mistake. Similarly, son, wife, husband, friend etc., all worldly relatives maintain relationship only so long as their selfish ends continue to be fulfilled. Ponder over this fact seriously. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Therefore, Oh mind! You too, abandoning these selfish people, practise devotion to Shyāmasundara alone.”
