avadha ke rāma bane braja shyāma

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Bhagwan Rāma of Avadha appeared as ‘Shyāma’ in Braja. Lakshamaṇa appeared as Balarāma and Jānakī became known as Shrī Rādhā Rānī. In the age of Tretā, Bhagwan Rāma played the role of an elder brother, while in the age of Dwāpara, Balarāma was the elder one. In Braja, Bhagwan Rāma manifested Himself as naughty Kṛishṇa, captivatingly curving His crown, neck, waist and feet in a playful and sportive manner and performed the līlā of the divine rāsa dance for establishing an ideal before the realized souls that the bliss of God with form is far superior to the bliss of God without form. In Braja, Jānakī Jī as Shrī Rādhā made Bhagwan Rāma massage Her feet. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “One who differentiates between Bhagwan Rāma and Bhagwan Kṛishṇa is an unpardonable offender against the divine name (nāmāparādhī) and does not deserve a place even in hell.”
