amolaka ratana milata binu mola

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

How strange it is that the most invaluable gem is achieved without a price! This gem of love is coveted even by paramahansas; listen with open ears. Without the love of Shyāmasundara, even the nirvikalpa trance of the Brahmagyānīs (those who have realized Brahma) is as bitter as the juice of the neem-leaves. Without this love, the paths of karma, yoga, etc. are all shallow, because karma makes one attain heaven, and yoga, eight material perfections (siddhīs) but love makes one attain everything and can be achieved just by speaking ‘Hari bola’ (i.e. the names of God). Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “We have attained this invaluable treasure of love without any special effort at all by simple means of saṅkīrtana etc.”
