savatiyā niṁdiyā mohiṁ satāye

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

A virahiṇī says, “The sleep is aggrieving me like a co-wife. Since the time I saw beloved Shyāmasundara in a dream, my heart has not been at peace even for a moment. I try different means to get some sleep, but the intense pang of separation wakes me up at once. When I do not sleep at all, how is it possible to see dreams? And without dreams, how can I meet my beloved? I wander all around like a lunatic, yearning for the sweet union of my beloved.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Oh virahiṇī! When your own mind is not in your control, why do you blame someone else (sleep)?”
