Virah Madhuri · Pad 163
viraha dukha, kahi na jāya sahi jāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says, “Oh sakhi! The pain of separation cannot be told, it can only be endured. So long as one does not get afflicted with this disease, one cannot understand this secret. Even if a virahiṇī wants to share this grief with someone, all she receives is adverse criticism, which further makes her a laughing stock, but the problem is that she cannot even help revealing this agony of separation because of its ever-increasing intensity. Oh sakhi! In separation, the Beloved pervades the entire being in such a way as oil permeates a sesame seed.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the virahiṇī adds, “Oh sakhi! There is one more problem, and that is, the more I try to forget the Beloved, the more He invades my thoughts.”
