mādho! puravahu mama abhilāsa

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Uddhava, enraptured with divine love-bliss, says to Bhagwan Kṛishṇa, “Oh Shyāmasundara! Please fulfil this desire of mine. When will I be blessed with the habitation in Vṛindāvana in the form of a creeper or a leaf, with the hope of getting purified by the foot-dust of Shrī Kishorī Jī’s friends, the maidens of Braja? Blessed are those uncouth women with whom the Lord of Baikuṇṭha engages Himself in ever-new līlās, deserting the happiness of Baikuṇṭha. The bliss that is being searched by the Vedas even till this day is possessed by these very gopīs.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, Uddhava says, “Renouncing the doctrine – ‘Soham’ (i.e. I am God), I have now become the follower of the doctrine of dualistic devotion – ‘Dāsoham’ (i.e. I am the servant and Shyāmasundara is my master.)
