puni sharata-pūrṇimā ā gaī
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
In separation from Shyāmasundara, a maiden of Braja states, “Oh sakhi! Sharat Pūrṇimā has come again. Oh sakhi! The season of rains has also passed. What mode of the Beloved’s love this is that neither He came Himself nor called us. Has He become so deeply attached to Kubjā? No, no, this is not the thing. Oh beloved Shyāmasundara! We are certainly undergoing the punishment for having insulted You unknowingly time and time again. But even that punishment has reached its limit. Kindly do forgive us now. Have you abandoned Your eternal wont of forgiveness?” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Oh sakhi! The memory of the mahārāsa on Sharat Pūrṇimā is adding fuel to this fire of separation.”
