na jāvo, mathurā! prāṇādhāra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(The heart-rending lamentation of the gopīs at the time of Shyāmasundara’s departure to Mathurā.) Oh life of our life, Shyāmasundara! Don’t go to Mathurā. Oh Beloved! Don’t feign ignorance after knowing everything. You alone are the personified life of all the gopīs, the cowherd boys and the cows. You Yourself tell, how then, can the body exist without the prana? Although You are telling us that You will be back within a few days, we don’t know why our heart refuses to believe this. In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, “We are feeling frequently afraid of that cruel Kansa also.”
