ūdho!, hari soṁ kahiyo jāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
In separation from their beloved Kṛishṇa, the gopīs, who have descended from Bhagwan Kṛishṇa’s divine abode, Goloka, are sending a message to their Beloved through the messenger, Uddhava.) Oh Uddhava! Please convey our message to our beloved Shyāmasundara that we, the gopīs of Braja who are thirsty for the nectar of His love, are waiting very desperately for Him exactly in the same way as the chātakīs wait for the dark, rain-laden clouds of Svāti constellation with their eyes fixed on the sky. But still, if He prefers to stay in Mathurā, and it is painful for Him to return to us, then, we are saying from the bottom of our hearts that He should never come back to us. We always want to see Him happy, for His happiness is our happiness. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “The gopīs became silent after uttering these heart-rending words and Uddhava began to shed tears of reverence, seeing the selfless love of the gopīs.”
