ūdho!, bhalī karī tuma āye

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

The nitya-siddha gopīs, suffering from the intense pangs of their Beloved’s separation, say to Uddhava, “Uddhava! It was really very good that you came here. This Braja is a city of magic where the knowledge of even the greatest gyānīs comes to an end. As a matter of fact, the magic of this city especially works only on the gyānīs. The Supreme Being, Shrī Kṛishṇa, has manifested His divine abode Goloka, in the form of Braja, in this mortal world only in order to distribute the nectar of divine love to the self-contented, self-realized paramahansas. Uddhava! Our beloved Shyāmasundara has sent even you to us, actually to fill up your dry and hollow wisdom with the nectar of divine love. Whoever came to this Braja, became mad in the divine love of Shrī Kṛishṇa, whether he be the king of gyānīs, Bhagwan Shiva himself, or the greatest paramahansas like Sanaka etc.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “These mysterious and moving words of the gopīs transported Uddhava to such great depths in the ocean of divine love-bliss that he could not surface again. That is, Uddhava was blessed with divine love by the grace of the gopīs and became gratified eternally.”
