aho hari! aba na viraha sahi jāta
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
A virahiṇī says, “Oh beloved Shyāmasundara! Now it is becoming absolutely impossible for me to bear Your separation anymore. The fire of separation has burnt even the tears of my eyes and even death wants to betray me, i.e. now even my life is in danger. ‘The Beloved will be coming any moment’, ‘the Beloved will never come’; trying to disentangle these entanglements of hope and despair, I feel one moment of Your separation to be as long as a kalpa. I am completely defeated by my mind and senses. Nobody listens to me. Although I well understand the definition of love, my heart refuses to be at peace even for a moment. Oh Shyāmasundara! Do as You please but know for sure that my only relationship is with You and You alone, and it will remain so for endless time.” Seeing such lovelorn condition of that virahiṇī, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī tries to console her, “Oh sakhi! Why are you being so impatient? There always comes morning after every night, i.e. you will surely experience the joy of sweet-meeting with your Beloved after this period of separation from Him.”
