Virah Madhuri · Pad 11
arī sakhi!, prīti na kariyo koya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Feeling irritated in Shyāmasundara’s love, a gopī says, “None should ever love Shyāmasundara. The agony of love is more intense than even the pain of death. Lovers define love as something which kills and revives one again and again. In love, one has to remain restless all day and weep all night. Moreover, this love washes away the proprieties of the world and the Vedas by tears in a moment, i.e. it destroys them forever.” In the meanwhile, Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī said to the gopī, “Oh sakhi! You are reviling love only in acting. I will consider your criticism genuine when instead of lecturing against love, you stop loving Shyāmasundara yourself.”
