Maan Madhuri · Pad 42

lakhī maiṁ, navani te ati mṛidutāī

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

Rādhikā Jī, who is annoyed with beloved Shyāmasundara, talks to Lalitā in equivocal language, full of taunts – “Oh sakhi, I have experienced that the heart of the Beloved is softer than even butter. I know the virtues of His heart very well. How can you know more than Me? Oh sakhi! Butter melts selfishly only because of the heat it itself suffers from, but beloved Kṛishṇa gets melted by the heat of the suffering of other women (individual souls), and that too, from a distance (living in His abode, Goloka). Oh, how simple-hearted He is! Oh sakhi! Who can call Him bepīra (cruel/devoid of pain and suffering) when He distributes pīra (love/pain and suffering) to all? The heart of the Beloved is very broad because innumerable women (the individual souls) get shelter in it. Oh sakhi! Although He is full of the above-mentioned divine qualities, still My mind sees only faults in Him.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Oh Lalitā! Now you go to your home, it is getting very late; Rādhā has become fully satiated with Him by now.”
