sakhī! sunu, ika anahonī bāta

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

(Strange māna and love of Lād̤ilī-Lāla.) A gopī says to another gopī, “Oh sakhi! Listen to a strange thing. Last night, beloved Rādhā and Kṛishṇa were talking to each other with great love, sitting in the bowers. All of a sudden, both of Them, at one and the same moment, decided to do māna with each other causelessly. Thus, just in fun, the matters escalated. Both of Them assumed māna without any cause and neither of Them went to please the other, as a consequence of which, the acting changed into reality, and both of Them got actually angry with each other and assumed real māna. Thus, in the expectation of being pleased by the other first, neither of Them moved, and the whole night passed in this competition. Lalitā etc. tried their best to pacify Them, but were unable to understand this unique sweetness of māna. In the morning, both of Them got angry on Themselves and started going to pacify each other at the same time.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Oh sakhi! Rādhā and Kṛishṇa possess only two different bodies but Their mind, intellect and soul are just one. Therefore, there is nothing surprising in Their thinking the same thing together.”
