māninī! tū mānati nahiṁ bāta
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
In answer to Shrī Rādhā’s complaint against Shyāmasundara, Lalitā says to Her, “Oh Kishorī Jī! You do not accept what I say. Even I had seen Shyāmasundara with my own eyes going to the bank of the river Yamunā, yesterday. You don’t trust even the words of Your eight chief sakhīs. You know this very well that naughty Shyāmasundara is never tired of playing pranks. Yesterday, on the bank of the river Yamunā, He started fighting with monkeys. He was all-alone and monkeys were in a big group. They attacked Shyāmasundara’s body with their nails and ran away taking His flute and pītāmbara. Shyāmasundara was left embarrassed.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, Lalitā adds, “The chunarī which You saw draped around Shyāmasundara’s shoulders was actually Mother Yashodā’s.”
