haryo sakhi! mo mana mohana-lāla
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
(One sakhī recounts her first sweet encounter with beloved Shyāmasundara to another.) Oh sakhi! Manamohana stole my heart today. I had gone to the bank of the river Yamunā to fetch water, when all of a sudden I met that trickster, Gopāla. Infinitely beautiful, that son of Nanda immediately cast, as if a magic spell on me. Being deceived by Him, I, an innocent gopī, was inebriated with His love. Even these stubborn eyes forcibly established a relationship with Him forever. Now, in His separation, each and every moment is extremely painful to me and my eyes are repeatedly filled with tears. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī teasingly remarks, “Oh sakhi! Whosoever stubbornly performs such reckless actions without thinking about the consequences, meets with the same fate.”
