sakhī! sunu, eka dinā kī bāta

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

A sakhī says to her intimate friend, “Oh sakhi! Listen to what happened one day. I was bathing in the river Yamunā, when Shyāmasundara came there all of a sudden. The joy which my eyes experienced at that time cannot be described by the tongue. ‘You and I make an excellent pair’, after saying thus, He started off smiling slowly. I, too, teasingly said in a low voice, ‘You are black, and I am fair; how can black and white make a good pair?” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the sakhī adds, “Now, yearning for Shyāmasundara, I am repenting in my heart for those words of mine.”
