manamohana-chhavi mana bhā gaī
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Describing her first meeting with Shyāmasundara, a gopī says to her intimate friend, “Oh sakhi! The fascinating form of Madanamohana has stolen my heart. Yesterday, as soon as my eyes fell on Shyāmasundara’s slightly dark-complexioned lotus-face, I fell madly in love with Him. The invaluable treasure which I had been searching for till that moment was attained by me without any price or effort, yesterday. Now that bewitchingly beautiful form of Shyāmasundara has occupied each and every fibre of my being. His mischievous side-glances and sweet smile have submerged me in the ocean of love.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says to the gopī, “Oh sakhi! At present, you have experienced only the bliss of association that is why you are putting on airs. You do not have any experience of the unbearable agony of separation. The truth is that you have been deceived.”
