chhuvo jani, manamohana tana mora

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

(A sakhī’s humorous dialogue with Shyāmasundara.) Oh Manamohana! Don’t touch my body. Manamohana said, “Oh sakhi! On the one hand, you call Me ‘Manamohana’ (the stealer of heart) and on the other hand, you are also so much attached to your body.” The sakhī said, “I am a devoted wife. I have given You my heart, not the body.” Manamohana said, “Oh sakhi! Devotion to husband or anyone is based only on the attachment of the mind. This is the gist of all the Vedas and scriptures. Oh sakhi! Listen. If an individual soul loves Me single-mindedly abandoning all religions, I” in the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī “forgive his sin of renouncing religions as well as all other sins and drown him in the ocean of divine love.”
