kahūṁ maiṁ, kāsoṁ mana kī bāta

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

One sakhī reflects upon her first meeting with Shyāmasundara – “Oh! To whom can I reveal the feelings of my heart? Manamohana’s soul-enrapturing beautiful form has captivated my heart. Ever since then, I have been restless without Him. The sarcastic remarks of my friends make it obvious that they have some suspicion about my desperate condition. The binding social conventions have become my very enemies now. How can I remain patient any longer? My eyes too, shedding incessant flow of tears, perpetually insist on attaining a vision of Shyāmasundara without a moment’s delay. My plight is equivalent to that of a restless bird that wishes to fly but is wingless. Thus, in the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, I find no peace even for a fraction of a second during the day and the night seems to me like the night of death bent upon taking my life.”
