Nikunj Madhuri · Pad 8
chalo piya, jhūleṁ kuñja majhāra
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Shrī Kishorī Jī says to Shyāmasundara, “Oh Beloved! Let’s go to swing in the groves. Look, Beloved! How captivating Vṛindāvana is looking! And how beautiful is the scenery of the month of rain which showers bliss. Look at the sky! How the lightning is flashing seeing the dark clouds in the sky (i.e. even My heart is leaping with joy seeing You).” Understanding the hidden implication behind Kishorī Jī’s words, Shyāmasundara said, “Oh Kishorī Jī! Just see, how the clouds by their thundering sound are revealing their happiness upon seeing the lightning in the sky!” (The implication is, similarly, I am feeling intoxicated with joy looking at You.) Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Knowing the hidden meaning of Shyāmasundara’s symbolical words, Kishorī Jī said to Shyāmasundara with a very sweet smile, ‘Naughty!”
