sakhī kachhu, priyatama bāta sunāya
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
One sakhī says to another, “Oh sakhi! Tell me something about Shyāmasundara.” The other sakhī tauntingly replied, “His body is black, His mind is black and His actions are black as well.” The first sakhī said, “I admit that He is black in all aspects, but still He alone pervades your entire being.” The other sakhī responded, “Oh sakhi! Although you may not trust my words but the truth is, I don’t like to talk about Him even in a dream.” The first sakhī said, “You are absolutely right because the mention of the Beloved fans the fire of His separation in your heart.” At this, says Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the other sakhī said with women’s unique blandishment steeped in natural modesty, “Go away! What you are telling is your own experience. This might be happening to you.”
