Shri Radha Madhuri · Pad 37
lakhu lālihiṁ, lālahiṁ lāla re
Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj
English meaning
Oh sakhi! Look! Today, Kishorī Jī has adorned Herself in red. In the parting of Her hair is beautified the red sindūra and absolutely lovely is the red bindī on Her forehead. The red flowers decorated on Her braid are looking extremely beautiful. The redness of Her cheeks is just worth watching! Her lips too, are naturally red. She is wearing a garland of red lotuses around Her neck. The red blouse She has put on is also overly lovely. There is some natural redness in Her big eyes as well. The henna on Her hands and the mihāvara on Her feet are also red. Even the chunarī covering Her head is red. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Up to what extent can I say, even in the heart of Kishorī Jī is present Lāla Gopāla i.e. Shrī Kṛishṇa.” (This name of Shrī Kṛishṇa has deliberately been used here to match the word ‘Lāla’ used everywhere in this song as the hindi equivalent of the word ‘red’.)
