Shri Radha Madhuri · Pad 23

pyārī torī, laṭa laṭakani para vārī

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

“Oh Kishorī Jī! I sacrifice myself on the lovely curls of Your hair. How beautiful is the ankle-long braid of Your hair, embedded with beautiful flowers! It seems as if it wants to kiss Your lotus-feet. Not even the self-realized souls who are merged in formless God, know the secret of the curly hair of Your braid. Bhagwan Kṛishṇa, in order to see Kishorī Jī’s face, had assumed innumerable forms and practised severe austerities. All those very forms became extremely frail and took the form of Kishorī Jī’s hair. But since it was an unapproved act, Kishorī Jī bound all those hair and threw them back towards Her feet.” Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “It is absolutely proper for Bhagwan Kṛishṇa to stay towards Kishorī Jī’s feet, because He is Kishorī Jī’s servant and a servant always stays in his master’s feet, not on his head.”
