Shri Krishna Madhuri · Pad 44

hamāro kānha prāna ko prāna

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

A Braja-gopī tells her friend, “Our Shyāmasundara is the soul of all souls. Oh sakhi! Today I had gone to bathe in the river Yamunā. There, sage Durvāsā told this secret proving it by the Vedas and other scriptures. He said that just as the soul is dearer to the senses, mind and intellect than themselves, in the same way, the soul, too, loves its soul, Shyāmasundara more than it loves itself.” In the words of Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī, the other sakhī said, “Oh sakhi! That is why Shyāmasundara looks lovelier than life. I have understood this secret today.”
