Shri Krishna Madhuri · Pad 21

naṭakhaṭa kī laṭa ghuṁgharāla re

Original pad by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj

English meaning

The locks of Shyāmasundara’s hair are extremely curly. These very curls have put a noose around the necks of the maidens of whole Braja. And to add insult to their injury, the mean peacock-feather crescent is strutting on Shyāmasundara’s forehead. These very curls have also poisoned Shyāmasundara’s ear that is why, even the earrings are swaggering, coming on Shyāmasundara’s cheeks. These same curls have also brought Shyāmasundara’s heart in their favour; therefore the gem-necklaces adorned on that heart are also strutting. Jagadguru Shrī Kripālu Jī says, “Seeing those extremely black and curly tresses, even we have become infatuated with them.”
